Running every part of my business in Hampshire, Sustainability is at the heart of everything I do. That’s why I am intentional about every single material that enters and leaves my workspace. For me, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword, it’s about Sensory Sustainability.

What is Sensory Sustainability

Sensory Sustainability in aromatherapy refers to a conscious, responsible, and eco-friendly use of natural scents.

Promoting long-term emotional and physical well-being without exhausting natural resources or overwhelming your senses.

Sensory Sustainability combines the therapeutic benefits of the essential oils with ethical, sustainable practices, focusing on creating mindful experiences that support both the user and the environment.

Key aspects include:

- Mindful Consumption: Moving away from the over-consumption of essential oils by recognizing that a small amount can go a long way and provide significant therapeutic benefits.

- Eco-Friendly Sourcing: Using ingredients that are derived from plants that are farmed sustainably and ethically.

- Biodegradable Materials: Using packaging and materials that are eco-friendly and, where possible, biodegradable.

- Sensory Education: Educating others to engage with scents on a deeper, more intentional level, rather than using strong fragrances constantly.

- Inclusive Environments: Creating "olfactory safe spaces" that respect individual sensitivities, ensuring that aromatherapy is supportive rather than overwhelming. 

This approach transforms aromatherapy from a fleeting aesthetic experience into a lasting, restorative practice that respects the planet and enhances mental wellness

When your environment is cluttered with single-use plastics and "loud" synthetic materials and scents, it adds to the mental noise and is often overwhelming especially for many neurodivergent and ADHD minds.

My "Source to Solution" journey is designed for a quieter mind and a lighter footprint.

1. The Amber Glass Shield: Protecting the Chemistry

I choose my signature Amber Glass for more than just its aesthetic. The amber performs a vital scientific role. Essential oils are delicate, chemically complex and highly sensitive. Their molecular structure is
vulnerable to UV light or photodegradation - a process where light energy triggers chemical reactions that break the oil down.

Why UV Light Matters

  • The Energy:

    Sunlight contains ultraviolet (UV) rays.

  • The Reaction: 

    The sun’s rays act hit the delicate scent molecules and cause them to oxidise.

  • - as a starter pot for baby French lavender,

 or reusing your bottle for:

  • - Single flower vase   
  • - DIY room spray
  • - Misting plants

No rustling plastic, no non-recyclable bubble wrap just tissue paper, cardboard, and wood wool.  Everything here, from the wicks to the plastic-free recyclable packaging it's tucked into has been chosen because I believe in being kind to the planet and working with nature.

Synthetics are engineered to be "loud." By using 100% pure soy wax and essential oils, I ensure that your home remains a sanctuary free from the "chemical noise" of traditional high-street scents.
